How do I keep my accounting records?

Making sure you have a good bookkeeping system is important for a number of reasons, whether you want to save time when digging through information, save money on big accountancy fees by having tidy records, or be able to obtain meaningful management accounts.
At A4G we run three training courses centred around the Sage accounts package. Each course is structured around a slide show, 1 to 1 training assistance, and you even get to take away with you our very own user guide.

Keeping basic records on a computerised system

This session is designed to get you started on inputting invoices, bank cash and credit card transactions, and from this data it will guide you through doing your vat return. We will also show you around the Sage package to familiarise you with it so it is not so scary.

This session is aimed at those who are new or not yet confident on sage.

Basic controls on a computerised accounts system

You may know how to input all the main types of transactions on your accounts package, but how do you know that it is right? This session will show you how to reconcile basic control accounts, such as the all important bank reconciliation. It will also help you identify who owes you how much money, and provides the basis for your credit control.

This session is aimed at those who are comfortable entering data onto sage, but do not know what the data actually means.

Advanced controls on a computerised accounts system

Once you have a high quality bookkeeping system, your next aim must be to have high quality management reporting. We will provide you with the necessary checklist and supporting spreadsheets in order for you to calculate and post the month end journals. And of course we will show you how to use them, and how to generate the management reports.

This session is rather in-depth and you may need to have a good understanding and experience of accountancy
