Tough Times Seminars

Our morning seminars last year proved very popular and we are delighted to offer the next run of seminars. Remember, all seminars will take place in our boardroom at the Kingslodge office starting at 7.45 am for 8am sharp with tea / coffee and bacon rolls provided, with an aim to finish by 9am. This is also an ideal way of meeting other businesses.

The next dates are:

Thursday 22nd January I have an LLP, now what can I do with it

More and more businesses are being set up as Limited Liability Partnerships but are you using this relatively new business structure in the most tax efficient manner?

This seminar has been created to provide ideas and advice on the following:

  • Areas where your business structure can be altered in order to provide additional flexibility and tax savings
  • How to take your drawings from the business in a more tax efficient manner
  • Methods of investing business profits tax-efficiently

Thursday 29th January – Improving Cash flow through Effective Debt Recovery

Research has shown that debt of up to 30 days has a 98% chance of recovery. This reduces to 59% at 6 months and then to only 13% when the debt is 2 years old.*

With so many companies currently struggling to keep afloat, the key to successful collections is making sure you have a solid and efficient recovery process.

This seminar has been created to provide ideas and advice on how to deal with late payers and customers who are “avoiding your calls”.

Topics on the agenda will include:

  • Successful debt recovery, Can you afford not to?
  • How to collect debts cost effectively
  • How to collect debts and pass the cost to the debtor

Thursday 5th February – Where to Invest your Inheritance Tax

A4G Wealth Management will be covering the topic of Inheritance tax and how your beneficiaries can avoid paying it (legally!).

With careful planning there is no reason why Inheritance tax cannot be mitigated in most cases.

Wills are crucial, especially if you are married or have children. Within the will we can help to ensure that your beneficiaries receive the best value from your estate.

We also recommend life assurance placed into trust to ensure beneficiaries receive a lump sum which can be used to offset any potential inheritance tax.

Government legislation is changing all the time with regards to inheritance tax, and our Wealth Management advisers are able to guide clients through the complexities of inheritance tax and how to mitigate cost effectively and legally.

Thursday 12th February – Keeping Basic records on a computerised system

Do you feel unsure of using a computerised accounts package? Do you need to know how to enter invoices, reconcile bank accounts, manage a Vat quarter or produce meaningful management accounts from your package?

This is the first of our three training courses which will tackle most of the commonly asked questions and issues on how to use your accounts package. The courses we run are designed around Sage, as this is the package which most of our clients use, and normally reaps the most benefits. We will be discussing and giving you a taste of the first of the three courses at this breakfast meeting, “Keeping basic records on a computerised system.” This course focuses on how to start using sage, processing the data, and how to manage the Vat quarter. It would benefit those clients which are interested in using a computerised package for the first time, or those who are not that confident when entering data on Sage.

Thursday 19th February - Why no one should have a limited company in this economic climate

Did you know research suggests that over 87% of businesses in the UK are not set up in the most tax efficient manner?

We will explain to you the savings that can be made by moving your business away from the traditional limited company or self-employed structures. All forums take you through the ideas step by step and our presenters will be happy to answer your questions as and when they arise.

Thursday 26th February – Understanding your REAL break even point

This seminar is specifically aimed at those businesses who have been profitable in the past or are still profitable now but want to consider what options are available to them if their sales fall. The contents of the seminar include:

  1. How to calculate your REAL break-even point for the year
  2. The impact of pricing on your break-even point
  3. The impact of tax on your break-even point
  4. The 5 minute cash flow
  5. What to do if you identify a problem

Thursday 5th March When will it be safe to go back into property?

Back due to popular demand!

This seminar is suitable for those who want to cash in on the slump in property prices and are considering when to make their move.

Representatives from A4G Wealth Management will look at the way that property prices moved during the last recession, examine the finance that is available and compare the commercial and residential markets. They will also comment on investment alternatives to property if you don’t think the time is yet right and also analyse a deal being offered by Barratt Homes to sell properties at discounts of up to 30% on their original price.

Thursday 12th March – Keeping Basic records on a computerised system

Do you feel unsure of using a computerised accounts package? Do you need to know how to enter invoices, reconcile bank accounts, manage a Vat quarter or produce meaningful management accounts from your package?
