Tax credits – 31st August deadline

If you have recently been sent any forms from the HMRC you will need to ensure that you fill them out and return them before the 31st August to ensure that they do not stop all payments. (You will also be requested to back date earlier payments)

It is also necessary to advise the HMRC within 3 months of any change of circumstances that may affect the amount you receive; such as changes of more than £10 per week in child care costs lasting up to four weeks, a child leaves home or full time education, a partner moves out or a new one moves in, or if one of you leave the UK permanently of for 8 weeks or more.

Pricing in Proportion

A new pricing structure that will affect your postal costs will come into effect on 21st August 2006. The price you pay to send your mail will now be dependant on the size as well as the weight. Mail will now fall into three main pricing formats; these are letter, large letter and packet.

Royal Mail have stated that while the postage will change for some items, two thirds of mail will remain the same.
