Being tax efficient by employing your teenager!

Employ your teenager to help out in your business between the hours of 7am and 7pm and the wage they receive will qualify for tax relief. It is legal to employ children over the age of 13 providing they are undertaking light duties in the following specified occupations:

• Agricultural or horticultural work
• Shop work including stacking
• Hairdressing salons
• Office work
• Domestic work in hotels or other establishments offering accommodation
• Café or restaurants

The study undertaken by Panasonic Business systems has discovered that 54% of SME owners start up with no business plan.

Having the freedom and flexibility to go it alone were the major factors that people identified to setting up a new business.
