HMO License

As from the 6th April 2006, HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) licensing will come into force in the UK.  The new licensing scheme is to cover properties, which are let out to tenants who are unrelated to each other (e.g. students). This licence is aimed at properties where unconnected people are living together and sharing facilities (e.g. kitchens/bathrooms). It doesn't mean that all rented property will need to be licensed, but clients who have rental properties may be affected by the new licenses, which will become law from 6 April 2006.

In a recent survey carried out by Venture Finance, nearly a third of SME owners cited cash flow management and chasing payment of invoices as the biggest challenge in running a business.
