As an employer you may provide your employees with a seasonal gift, such as turkey, a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates at Christmas.  All of these gifts are considered to be trivial and therefore not taxable.

To qualify for tax relief the full cost has to be below £50 and includes wrapping, bows and postage and packaging.

Any gifts of cash and some vouchers should be treated separately from the employment and taxed through the PAYE system accordingly.
