| Statutory redundancy rate rise |
|
The Government has recently confirmed that the increase in the weekly limit used to calculate statutory redundancy pay, from £350 to £380, will take place on 1 October 2009. Statutory redundancy payments are based on the employee's age, years the employee has worked for you (from two to twenty) and the gross weekly pay.
We understand that the limit will remain the same until February 2011.
Please also be aware that from the 1st October the minimum wage will increase to £5.80 while for 18 – 21 year olds it is increasing to £4.83 and for 16 – 17 year olds it will increase to £3.57.
