Please remember that 31st July is rapidly approaching and this is the deadline for making a second ‘payment on account’ for tax owing for the preceding tax year.

If you still owe tax that you were due to pay by the previous 31st January you will be charged a second automatic 5% surcharge on top of the amount you owe.

For any clients of A4G, the amounts being requested should agree with that previously advised in the report submitted to you with your tax return. If you are still unsure how much you need to pay though, then please call Sarah Reynolds our Tax administrator who will check that the amount payable is correct.

As we mentioned in last weeks email newsletter further strikes were inevitable from the employees of Royal Mail – it has now been announced that a series of strikes will take place over a two week period beginning at 7pm tonight (25th July) and ending at 12 noon on Wednesday 8th August.

The strike will affect all mail centres and 26 Delivery Offices that are co-located with mail Centres on Thursday 26th July.

Business are urged to bring forward their postings to the earlier part of the week if possible and to avoid posting anything on Thursday 26th July. Royal Mail have informed that there will be no collections at all from business customers on this day.
